Description
KOV's army is loosely based on a single Roman Legion. It is designed to be flexible, but at the same time reach an unheard of level of organisation. From the top, there is the prime commanding officer, the Legatus. Below him, the Adjutant, his assistant, and replacement if the Legatus is not present. Below those two is the Tribune, another very important commanding officer, that handles all tasks, similar to the Legatus, handling also the organization of the Centurions;
Centurions are the commanders of two Decanus underneath them. They are assisted by Optio, much in the same way the Adjutant's role is, they can be replacements for the Centurions, and assist in their important duties.
Decanus are direct battlefield commanders of Contubernium Contubernium are groups of 4 Soldiers each. Contubernium are ''Camp groups'' and they are a home for all the soldiers in KOV's army. Decanus and their Signifer are responsible for the training, equipment, promotion and leading of the soldiers in their Contubernium, so soldiers, look to your Signifer or Decanus marked with your Contubernium symbol: (IV or V for Legio I, VI or VII for Legio II)

KOV takes to war very differently than others.
Everything is about strict training and discipline, which by the time you are Hastatus, should be fairly good. First off we get everyone connected via VOIP. Rallying the Legionaries and their officers, the Elite. And then we think about our battle plan.
If the enemy outnumbers us but has weak-to-nill skill, a Barbaric clan (Newbie clan) we often use a formation.
There is two main formations in KOV.
Testudo is a tight square formation, used for surgical strikes on a holding opponent, such as bridge line, ramp, 'TQA's rock' and etc. (Useless against an aggressive enemy.) The testudo is a good formation to keep your push firmly packed. A firmly packed group of pms are more likely to take a kill.
Shieldwall is a line of men, equal to the width of the enemy formation. We align shields against a charging enemy and backstep at their speed, landing damage and staying out of PVP. When someone is seen low, it may be possible to stop and deal a burst of damage from everyone. However do not penetrate too deeply into their formation, your troops will spread out and begin getting locked, if you do not wish for this, you should keep your troops in formation.
Facing Organised Clans we try a more open approach with the majority of the group focused on pvp locks, generally you should assign Elite or even the Praetorian Guard. Also you must have the majority of your forces to be controlling pvps. The main war will take place between our controllers and theirs. Numbers is a key factor in any raid with two organised opponents, and it means the difference between victory and defeat.
